Silicon Valley

In the early days of the PC we were appointed by Silicon Valley to sell PCs off the page. As Silicon Valley was a new company it was important to portray to the reader their credentials. The client's brief was quite amazing and refreshingly truthful.

The client believed there were a lot of sharks in the market and to avoid such people a 48page booklet was produced called the " Pitfalls of Buying a PC'' which we offered free to every enquirer. We therefore couldn't resist the Shark ad. It was hugely successful and moved a lot of PCs.

The second Inside Trading ad was equally successful. It was so honest, and actually admitted that the case was pretty ugly and that Silicon Valley spent their R&D money on what goes inside.

Watching Stephen Spielberg's blockbuster inspired us to create the Jurassic PC ad that too resulted in a lot of sales. In fact these three ads ran for a whole year with only the PC descriptions changing with each insertion. To really appreciate the campaign, you should enlarge the ads and read the body matter on the left hand side.
